Parametric design of developable structure based on Yoshimura origami pattern

Origami is an ancient art form and can be divided into rigid non-rigid origami. Rigid origami suitable for the design of building structures because panels are not twisted deformed during folding process. Currently, generally built with steel. However, compared natural, non-polluting wood, steel has a high energy consumption environmental impact. Based on this situation, paper designs developable wooden structure using Yoshimura model. First, Jacobian matrix method was used to analyze degree freedom basic unit pattern, following which motion trajectory required by target obtained. Secondly, analyzing relationship between plane angle α dihedral θ, three interaction rules were obtained, formula determining size established α, number valley folds n length l. Subsequently, two enhancement schemes, quadrangle scheme triangle scheme, proposed increase height structure.
